smiling = laughter

August 6, 2010 on 12:31 pm | In Life | 2 Comments

smiling is the beginning of laughter. this saying is so true…”the most wasted of all days is one without laughter” ~E. E. Cummings. you ever think about when babies smile or when they start laughing? babies not knowing much still get that joyful happiness inside that shows it on their face with a smile. why cant adults just smile at everything lol. sometimes while walking the streets of nyc i will focus on peoples faces and of course most everyone has a straight look on their face, but everynow & then you will see someone with an inviting look on their face. its so nice to pass someone and they give you a lil smile. i always smile when i see dogs or a cute kid or baby. its just something that makes me happy inside. but more & more i try to smile at people as passing and 9 times out of 10 i will get a smile back. sometimes i even get a hello or hi.

why am i writing this…just something that i was thinking about this morning after i read online how smiling can start your day off good, put you in a good mood. for me there is nothing better than laughing my ass off so much that my stomach hurts. that right there folks is priceless! so go laugh your ass off, hell i hope your lauging now…if not at least smiling…yep, yep, i see it! Ha Ha!! ;)

kayaking on the hudson

August 4, 2010 on 10:27 pm | In Life | 1 Comment

this evening timothy & i went kayaking on the hudson river here in nyc. the hudson river is about a 10 min walk from where we live. pretty damn nice huh? one of the things i will miss when we move to cali the end of this month. ive never been kayaking and have always wanted to so i signed us up through manhattan kayak company. there were about 7 of us in the class & we had step by step instructions before we set off in the water. the weather was great & the sunset was even better. the city of manhattan and NJ was so pretty as the sun set and you could see all the lights of the city. kayaking was a great shoulder workout too. OMG there where times when i was paddling & paddling and my shoulders where burning but there were times when i would just sit & float and take it all in. being out there on the water was serene. so even though i dont think i will get into kayaking im glad i got out & experienced something that i have always wanted to try! that makes me happy!

change of desire….

this weekend was the USA’s in vegas. USA’s is always a great bodybuilding show. hell any show in vegas is great because there is so much fun to be had. i was glued to my computer to see the pics & results of the female bodybuilders. there were alot of awesome competitors. four weight classes and only two pro cards given out of those class winners. hmmmm….the men receive four pro cards. figure and bikini six…..go figure. anyways, it was good to see some quality female bodybuilders up there battling for their pro cards. the two pro card winners were former figure competitors. they are stacked with muscle now and they have a great look….very feminine, pretty & still muscular. geez i feel like a reporter here lol.

so…here is the funny thing. even though i was glued to my computer looking at the pics & seeing who has won it did nothing to me inside to want to compete again. i decided not to compete this year because of the move back to cali this month and i needed a break from doing four shows last year. throughout the year so far i have NO desire to get on stage again. i kinda want to just move on to other things. dont get me wrong i have no intentions of losing my muscle ARE YOU CRAZY?? haha i love my muscle & will continue to train in the gym everyday to maintain what i have. i just have no ambition to compete with the NPC bodybuilding anymore. its funny how my thoughts have changed so much. last year i was so amped/motivated about competing. this year and beyond…nothing! its okay to live, train, eat and sleep like a bodybuilder and still you DONT have to compete. thats just where i am at in my head right now. BUT i never say never because you just never know…….

for those that want to see pics of the show….USA’s
you might have to register to see the pics but this is a great site to see all the bodybuilding results/pics if you are interested. happy sunday to all!!! ♥

appreciating the fans!

i often wonder where female bodybuilding would be without the fans. i guess if there isnt a demand for something it doesnt exist. the internet has helped the industry so much. as you may not see a female bodybuilder walking down your street everyday you can get on the computer & check out many websites geared towards female bodybuilders. muscle on a female to me is not only sexy but it is a sense of power, dominance, control, supremacy. to be honest i love feeling all of those.

having muscle has opened many doors for me in life. it has given me confidence, drive & dedication. it keeps me healthy and in shape AND it has made me some good money. im not talking about competitions. im talking about fans wanting to know more about me as a female with muscle. wanting to see me flex, wrestle them or even lift them up off the ground and carry them around the room. its amazing and i enjoy it.

i get emails from fans curious about my workouts, what i eat or just to give me endless compliments. i appreciate it all. some fans have sent me some cool art that they have done themselves. a good friend of mine Silas Jones (the ultimate artist) who i have met through facebook is my greatest fan of all. the first two drawings he has done himself. he made me into the ultimate untamed wolverine warrior & na’vi from avatar. the shemuscle one was done by Area orion who does female muscle growth & morphs. he gave me some great big boobs huh? haha, the next two were made by an artist awhile back but i cant seem to find the name. the last two sketches were done by Jeremy Gua from facebook…cool stuff!
i want to thank all the fans out there that love women with muscle! you guys rock XOXO!!

i was away for a couple days in florida at a photo shoot. i had so much fun & what an amazing experience it was. i cannot wait to see the pics when i get them. we did three totally different looks. just wait til you see!!! ;)

ahhhhh the weekend is here. we are having some crazy weather i tell ya. when i was in FL i guess it rained and hailed here in manhattan. they even had a tornado warning. WTF is that all about. when i was in FL they were having a tropical storm warning. thank god it was not bad & my flight left this morning on time. i didnt get much sleep when i was away so when i got home this morning i just put my luggage on the floor & crashed in bed for a coulpe hours. tomorrow will be a better day lol…at least more productive because today so far has not been.

stay cool everyone….its HAWT out! 8)

boo hoo & woo hoo!

July 20, 2010 on 8:51 am | In Life | Comments Off

i had signed up for two very elaborate cake decorating classes at the culinary school a few months back. one was in june and another august. the june one was cancelled due to low enrollement. i just got an email saying the august one was cancelled too for the same reason. ugh…i guess they figure it is not cost productive if the class is not full and paying the master chef for her time. i was really looking forward to these classes since they would be the last ones i can take before moving to cali. oh well…hopefully i can find some really good classes out in cali when i get there & settled. ive gotten spoiled taking classes at the culinary school here because it really is the best & the master chef is amazing.

hmmm on to other things. its nice & hot here in nyc!!!! I LOVE SUMMER! but i really love  how people are always complaining if its too hot or too cold haha. it seems to always be the topic when you are in the elevator with someone. you say “hey, hows it going?” and they let out a big huff & puff sigh and say boy its too hot. it is yes but it is better than being too cold i say lol. i remember the days when i would love the sun & go lay out so i could get a nice tan. i dont do that anymore. my tanning days are over. even tanning in the bed. ive finally realized it isnt good for me. if i want a lil color i will use some sunless tanning lotion. im 35 & dont want to look 45. plus i have fair skin & moles so im not ready to have any kind of skin cancer just yet.

alright kids, im off to the gym to do some cardio. have a happy day all!

inspiring…

goodtimes with jen

July 16, 2010 on 10:17 pm | In Life | Comments Off

my friend from cali jen came to visit me here in nyc. we only had the day to hang so we tried to make the most of it. the weather was great and the drinks were cold! oh man…why when you get together with longtime friends you havent seen for awhile you always have to hit the bars & start the drinking? so i met her & her friend charlie at this lil pub and had a couple margaritas YUM! then timothy met up with us and we had to have some texas sized drinks at dallas bbqs. after a couple of those we got on the double decker bus to the financial district. walked around ground zero and rubbed the wall street bulls balls for goodluck haha! we made a pit stop at TGIF for another drink. by then it was getting close for them to head back to maryland on the train. we were not finished with our fun so we went to penn station, they got a later ticket & we went walking around some more and had another drinky drink and TGIF again. took alot of fun pics, had plenty of good laughs and had a blast of a time together.

woke up this morning realizing why i dont drink much. two words….HUNG OVER! yeah i felt like shit. headache and sick to my stomach. it didnt help that i didnt eat much yesterday too. i know i know…not eating is like the worst thing you can do when you like your muscles lol. today was pretty much a lazy day for me. relaxed & did laundry. tomorrow i will get back on track and hit the gym feeling good.

happy friday everyone!!! XOXO

fifty…50…fiddy…

July 11, 2010 on 8:18 pm | In Life | Comments Off

so i just counted on the calendar….fifty more days and timothy & i will be moved out of this apartment here in nyc. moving out on august 30th & on the road to the west coast in the u-haul. i can hardly wait. the renter will move in september 1st and pay the mortgage lol. no we dont have a place ready to go in LA yet but i have been looking online and will have to do it that way. its not as bad and scary as it sounds. property places give details & post photos of the places and i guess all we can hope for is that it is in a good neighborhood and is what the description says. i know LA is expensive but it is not as expensive as living in manhattan. were looking to spend no more than $1600 month in rent over there and i will tell you….we pay more for a studio apartment in nyc. its going to be so nice to have more space, bigger fridge, patio or balcony and maybe even washer & dryer hook ups. haha yeah im excited about having a washer & dryer of my own again. well hope everyone had a nice weekend. i cant believe july is already half over. btw…i LOVE air conditioning
